Sarah Baillie - Haptic cow in action Video not displayed?
Sarah Baillie, Senior Lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College and inventor of the Haptic Cow, demonstrates using the virtual reality simulator to identify pelvic landmarks and undertake pregnancy diagnosis and fertility tests.
Sarah also undertakes a systematic colic examination and identifys an impaction and twisted gut on the Haptic Horse simulator.
"We get the students to bring their hand down and feel the cervix which is like a single lump or bump. They then keep their hand on that but move forward until they feel the double bump. This is can only be the uterus, it can't be the cervix, the bladder or even the rumen."
